IMPORTANT NOTICE Our grooming parlour is temporarily closed due to our groomer being on Maternity leave. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please contact us in the new year, 2009, to enquire when Gemma will be returning to work or check back on this page for news. Thankyou About our Grooming Parlour Over the years our grooming department has grown from a small room in the surgery building to a large portacabin which is situated at the rear of our Redruth surgery. We have one groomer, Gemma Taylor, who has been with us now for over ten years. Gemma began her training here with us in the winter of 1996, while also attending Duchy College, where she completed two courses in animal care including NVQs. Gemma now runs our grooming parlour full time.
As well as grooming dogs we provide a grooming service for cats. If you have a nasty cat that you can not groom or a very matted cat, then we can groom it for you. In conjunction with the veterinary practice we can sedate and clip out the matts and groom the cat through. For cats that like to be groomed there is no need for sedation (as long as they are not too matted) and they can be groomed and even have a bath!
Although we are based in Redruth, we offer a FREE collection and delivery service from and to our Penryn Surgery, this can be discussed when booking an appointment. Please note that you do NOT have to be a registered client at J.M.Williamson Veterinary Surgery to become a grooming client. To visit the 'Grooming Gallery' of our clients.... click here!
Feedback from clients Mrs C from Penryn writes: "Dear Gemma, I just wanted to get in touch with you because I was so pleased with the way you had clipped 'Monty' my Westie dog today. I felt guilty leaving him early this morning at the Penryn Surgery as I was rushing to work, he was such a mess and a 'muddy' white colour!! Long overdue for a visit to the grooming Parlour. I didn't leave any instructions on how I wanted him to look or what needed to be done. I needn't have worried when we collected him tonight from the surgery he looked fantastic and just how a Westie should look - pure white and beautifully groomed! The whole family commented that in all the time we have been having him groomed by several different people, you have definitely done the best 'job' on him. He has never looked so good. Once again thank you so much for making Monty look so nice, we are delighted with your efforts. I can't promise he will be looking like that tomorrow after a nice walk along the muddy footpaths of Mylor Bridge but he will certainly be easier to look after now his coat is in such good condition. Thanks again, Mrs C, Mylor Bridge" Mrs W from Lanner writes: " I have recently been unwell and unfortunately could not get my dog Eddie in to be groomed, so he had become quite long and scruffy! I am so pleased with the way you have done him and made him in to a handsome boy once again. Thank you so much." (Eddie can be viewed on the grooming gallery)
