Cats and Small Animal Rescue Registered Charity No 1110587
"Lonely Pawz aims to provide a haven for unwanted and stray cats and other small animals - taking them in, treating them and finding new and loving homes for them."
A little history on Lonely Pawz cat rescue For many years Mrs Williamson has been providing an invaluable service to unwanted and stray cats based at our Redruth surgery. It was decided to make this work official, thus LONELY PAWZ was born in 2004. Lonely Pawz is now a registered charity run by a dedicated committee of clients from Mrs Williamson's surgeries. You can read some of the 'Lonely Pawz rescues' stories... Click here!
Our aims are:
Since the official records began in 2004, Lonely Pawz has rehomed upwards of 320 cats (up to July 2006), with average costs of £120 per animal. We are always looking for ideas for fundraising and we always appreciate donations, whether its money or food. Throughout the year we hold various fundraising events and at each surgery we have bric a brac for sale in aid of Lonely Pawz. Please check our 'What's On' page to see all upcoming news and events! Fundraising - Friends of Lonely Pawz The Lonely Pawz committee has found itself increasingly involved with the general day to day running of the charity, leaving very little time for vital fundraising. Recently a new group has been formed 'Friends of Lonely Pawz' which aims to concentrate solely on raising much needed funds. This group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at J.M.Willamson Veterinary Surgery in Redruth at 7.30pm. The meetings offer a chance for fundraising ideas and efforts to be discussed and are open to anybody wishing to attend. If you have spare time you would like to devote to this worthy cause or just have ideas you would like to share, please feel free to come along. You would meet like minded people for an informal and friendly chat, pursue ides and of course, meet the animals you are helping. If you would like to receive information then please contact either surgery and your details will be forwarded to the committee. Anybody wishing to become a volunteer contact us at either surgery.
